Structure

Clusters are considered as regional ecosystems of related industries and competences featuring a broad array of inter-industry interdependencies. (EC definition). They are defined as groups of firms, related economic actors, and institutions that are located near each other and have reached a sufficient scale to develop specialised expertise, services, resources, suppliers and skills.

The Cluster is based on a four-clover model approach and it groups

  • business operators, enterprises from the field of the biomass. They are representing the value chain of the biomass.
  • representatives of the research area (universities, research institutions in the field of the biomass). In cooperartion with the business sector it identifies and develops RDI projects.
  • representatives of public authorities (facilitate sector development through adequate mechanisms and implement energy efficiency strategies).
  • other catalyst organizations contributing to the development of the cluster and facilitating know-how transfer.
